What I admired most about Lt. Uhura had nothing to do with the color of her skin. She was a strong women without being overbearing. She knew her job and stuck to her post. She was cool under fire. I wanted to be her. I wanted her job. As it turns out, I went on to have a career in communications. I think the show Star Trek was about the promotion off all human rights. I don't think it was just a black and white thing. Remember Spock was a green alien with pointed ears.
