Ms. Nichell, I just want to Thank you for being a trailblazer and for being the inspiration behind my middle name, Nichell (although she misspelled it). My mother was so taken by your roll on Star Trek that she gave me your name. She wanted me to see myself beyond what 1960’s America said a Black girl could be. I pray you rest among the stars.
