I have been a Star Trek fan all of my life, and I was so proud of her being on t.v. At the time as I was a 10year old African American living in the the south in troubled times. She was about my parents age. She was a role model as were my parents. People like her were seldom seen on tv. She inspired me as my parents did, to achieve in school and be of service to my people and my country.
